Overview

This website is deliberately kept lean. It contains no contact form, no cookies, no analytics or tracking services, no advertising networks and no external typefaces. Enquiries run exclusively by phone or email. The only third-party element is a film on the “Zugspitze” page, which is loaded only after an explicit click – see below.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. The provider processes the technical data arising when the site is called up on our behalf, on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

When this website is called up, the server automatically collects information that your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. These data are not merged with other data sources and are not evaluated to identify individuals. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in the technically faultless and secure operation of the website. The log files are deleted automatically after seven days at the latest.

Typefaces

The typefaces “Newsreader” and “Archivo” are stored locally on the server of this website. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external provider and no data is transferred to third parties.

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or reach measurement, no advertising networks, no social media plug-ins and no embedded maps. For that reason there is also no cookie banner – there is nothing to consent to.

Film on the “Zugspitze” page (YouTube)

The Zugspitze page carries a film hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The film is not embedded automatically: as long as you do not start it, nothing is loaded from YouTube and no data goes there. At first you only see a preview image served from this server.

Only when you click “Play the film” is the player loaded. YouTube then learns your IP address and further browser data and may set cookies; if you are signed in to Google, the request can be assigned to your account. A transfer of data to the USA is possible. The legal basis is your consent given by that click pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR; you can withdraw it at any time by reloading the page and not starting the film again. We use the youtube-nocookie.com variant, which sets cookies only on playback. Details of Google's processing: policies.google.com/privacy.

We also link to an item in the media library of Bayerischer Rundfunk. That link is only called up when you click it; the privacy policy of the BR then applies.

Contact by phone or email

If you call or write to me, your details are stored in order to handle the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or to pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data are deleted once they are no longer required for the purpose for which they were collected and no statutory retention periods prevent deletion.

Your rights

  • Information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) – in Bavaria the competent body is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany

Note on completion

This privacy policy describes the technical state of this website. Before going live it should be reviewed by a legally qualified person and the data processing agreement with STRATO concluded.
